Happy Un-Birthday Fundraiser!
We hope you can join us to support families in our community - Click on the link below to buy your un-ticket to this exciting event! Choose one of the suggested levels of support, or feel free to include other savings from our un-event... such as not needing to hire a babysitter ($30-50?), or not needing to get a manicure, pedicure or haircut for the event ($25-50?), or not needing to buy a new outfit or shoes ($75-100?). Have fun planning not to attend our un-event!
With over 50% of young children in North Carolina living in low-income or poor households, and with the cost of diapers skyrocketing in recent years, providing clean diapers is a simple but vital way to care for our youngest and most vulnerable neighbors.
Since we started about 3 1/2 years ago, we have been able to provide over 400,000 diapers to families in Forsyth, Guilford, Davie, Davidson, Randolph, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin Counties - all through the support of local supporters like you!
As an all-volunteer organization, it is important to us to ensure that we use the communuty support wisely. Currently over 90% of contributions go directly to helping families in need. Supporting us with this fundraiser will help us focus our energy on how well we can serve the families, instead of wasting time organizing fundraisers. Additionally, we save money by not needing to rent space, advertise, or provide food & entertainment for a fundraising event.
We are also always looking for volunteers to donate time. If you can donate 3-5 hours a month to help the diaper bank, send us an email at piedmontdiaperbank@gmail.com.

Cloth Diapers - some thoughts for Earth Day
Our Cloth Diaper pilot program has been off to a great start and we are hoping to expand the program to more agencies in the future! While cloth diapers is not an options for many families (easy access to washing machines, day care restrictions and the time commitment for families that are already working several jobs), there are some families where cloth diapers would be a great fit for their needs, but just need help with the upfront costs of cloth diapering along with some education about how to do it.
The Piedmont Diaper Bank's Green Bums program provides a cloth diaper kit for families who would like to use cloth diapers. The kit includes enough diapers and diaper covers to last approximately 3 days, a wet bag to store dirty diapers until wash day and some laundry detergent to get started. Currently, we are only able to offer the program to clients at Salem Pregnancy Care Center, but we are looking for ways to expand our program to other agencies. To do that, we need to do some more fundraising to meet the need!
There are easy ways to help. One of the best ways is to donate gently used cloth diapers and diaper covers to the diaper bank. If you don't have any gently used cloth diapers to donate, consider purchasing an Econobum kit, available at some popular retailers:
Amazon.com
Walmart
You can also donate financially here. Our goal is to raise about $2500 so we can provide 40 kits to families in our community.
(See the article one of our volunteers wrote about cloth diapering at Triad Moms on Main and join us on May 7 at the All About Baby Boutique in Greensboro for a fun time with cloth diaper demonstrations and snacks from McDonalds.)

April Diaper Shower
Shower the babies in your community with diapers!
Make a real change for babies in your community to stay dry and healthy! Over half of the babies in NC live in low-income or poor households,
and many don’t have access to a full supply of clean diapers. Help alleviate this “diaper drought” by
participating in the 2nd annual April Diaper Shower.
Invite your friends, co-workers, community group, Bible
study, book club, Sunday school class, neighborhood, church, school, scout
troop, etc. to “shower” the community with diapers for struggling
families. It’s simple – just collect
diapers with your group during the month of April and bring them to the diaper
bank or drop them off at one of our designated drop off sites between April
27th and May 8th, 2015. (Designated sites will be announced closer to the end of April, register at the link below for email notification of the designated sites - we plan to have at least one site in each county we serve.)
Click Here to register your group so you can receive email tips and reminders during April.
Sizes most needed are size Newborn, 1 and 5.
** Please note this is an old version of our website - if you want to learn more about the diaper bank, please visit our new website at www.piedmontdiaperbank.org ** All information on the April Diaper Shower is updated.
